Tsung Kei Peter Wong, currently a sixth-year Ph.D. student in the East Asian Studies Department, has been awarded the Young Scholar Award from the China Times Cultural Foundation (Taipei).
Recognizing outstanding dissertation research in Chinese studies, the award is granted annually to ten doctoral candidates across North America. The selection committee includes distinguished scholars such as Wen-hsin Yeh (Berkeley) and David Der-wei Wang (Harvard).
Peter's dissertation project "The Unlikely Rise of the Big Book in Early China" is the only one focused on early China to receive the award this year. At Princeton, Peter currently holds the prestigious Procter Fellowship from the Graduate School. Working with Princeton Professors Martin Kern, Anthony Grafton, Trenton Wilson, and Harvard University Professor Wai-yee Li, Peter plans to defend his dissertation in Spring 2025.
