Bio/Description

Hisae Matsui was appointed Japanese language lecturer in 2007. Matsui holds an Ed.D. in Technology Education and a M.A. in TESOL/Linguistics from West Virginia University, and a B.Ed. in Elementary Education from Hiroshima University, Japan. She has been teaching the first to fourth year course of Japanese language at Princeton. Prior to coming to Princeton, she taught Japanese language courses as well as Japanese content courses at Salem International University. Her scholarly interests are various forms of integrations of technology in foreign language pedagogy. Her current interests include telecollaboration between native and non-native speakers of Japanese, affordances of technological tools in educational context, and flip teaching in a Japanese classroom.
