Hisae Matsui holds an Ed.D. in Technology Education and an M.A. in TESOL/Linguistics from West Virginia University, as well as a B.Ed. in Elementary Education from Hiroshima University, Japan. She has been teaching Japanese language courses for first through fourth years at Princeton since 2007. Prior to joining Princeton, she taught Japanese language and content courses at Salem International University. Her scholarly interests focus on the integration of innovative technology into world language pedagogy. Her current research explores the use of design thinking in curriculum development, adaptive and personalized approaches to language instruction, virtual exchanges between native and non-native speakers of Japanese, and the utilization of artificial intelligence tools in second-language acquisition.
