Junnan Chen’s research focuses on postwar Japanese and Chinese visual arts including cinema, photography and media circulation. She is interested in exploring visual epistemology and the platformitivity of media, affect, and memory.
Before joining Princeton, she received her M.A. from Columbia University East Asian Languages and Cultures department. Prior to that, she completed her B.F.A in New York University Tisch School of the arts, majoring in Filmmaking and writing.
